Great place right by the beach. We went on Triathlon weekend and it was awesome to see the run from cafe facing beach. Interesting breakfast menu, my beef on taco was cooked the way I like. Unique choices from coffee/tea menu. Will be back.
A wonderful place with incredibly delicious food, beautifully presented. The service deserves a special mention — truly outstanding. I don’t remember the barista’s name exactly (I think it was Raf), and the tall waiter with blue eyes — they should be the pride of this place. You don’t even have time to ask for anything, and they already know what you need. Highly recommend this place! And coffee is very delicious 😋
Amazing little cafe! That good we went here two days in a row for breakfast. First day I had an almond croissant and hubby had the cheese and ham croissant (absolutely to die for) next day we had the egg and bacon croissant and the crème brûlée French toast. Absolutely magnificent! Oh and for drinks we got a smoothie the first day and then a hibiscus iced tea and white chocolate iced late, all magnificent!
Peach & Ricotta Sourdough Toast This was hands down the most breathtaking breakfast I’ve had in Australia. Let me break it down — eating this was like walking a tightrope high above the ground. The Italian sourdough forms the unshakable tightrope, carrying all the weight of the carbs from start to finish. The whipped ricotta and grilled peach chunks act as front runners, sending an explosive rush of pure sweetness hitting your taste buds, threatening to tip your balance right off the wire. Just as you’re about to lose your footing, prosciutto steps in instantly with rich saltiness, anchoring you firmly back on the tightrope. The candied walnuts and drizzled honey act as two perfect sidekicks, fine-tuning the balance of sweet and salty with every bite. It’s luxuriously creamy yet wonderfully crunchy, spectacular in flavour while staying elegantly refined❗️
Highly recommended the food was amazing... Very friendly staff and the coffee was perfect. Opening early everyday is great for the early risers. The kids loved the personalised babycinos. Plenty of indoor seating and beautiful benches looking at the beach views. Best coffee spot on surfers 😁 definitely come down and check this out you will not be disappointed
Have had breakfast and lunch here during our family holiday. The food was delicious! After a morning stroll along the beach it’s the perfect place to get some cool drinks as well. Can highly recommend their ice lattes, and the lychee sparkling ice tea is amazing. Big shout out to the awesome Kyra and Rick who made our drinks this morning.
The QR code menu has more options than the printed menu; really great well prepared fresh food. Nicola was an amazing server :-) They have cold brew coffee here which is a relative rarity! Highly recommend the Turkish eggs! Extremely satisfying! The open air atmosphere provides a great sun sheltered place while still enjoying the sea breeze
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Outstanding Breakfast Experience I had an absolutely amazing breakfast here 😍Everything we ordered was delicious, from the drinks to every dish on the table. The hot chocolate was rich and perfectly balanced, the smoothie was refreshing, and the presentation of every plate was beautiful. We tried the breakfast burrito, which was packed with flavor and fresh ingredients, and the croissant eggs benedict, which was simply outstanding—crispy, buttery, and perfectly complemented by the eggs and sauce. Every bite showed great attention to detail and high-quality ingredients👌🏻 A special thank you to Mare and Kiara, who prepared our meals. Their talent, care, and passion were evident in every dish. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. This was one of the best breakfast experiences I’ve had in a long time❤️ I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for exceptional food, great quality, and a memorable dining experience. I will definitely be coming back!
I just spent a week staying in the Merriton suites and had such a great experience at this Castaway while on holiday I visited about 5 out of the 7 days I stayed in Surfers Paradise. Rick and Cameron were always so friendly and welcoming, as well as service from any staff member was amazing every single time. I kept ordering the dark iced chocolate with strawberry cold foam and a shot of espresso and it was SO SO SO good every time. One thing I really appreciated was that they offered a dark chocolate option as well as regular milk chocolate, because dark chocolate is my favourite and it’s surprisingly hard to find at cafes sometimes. You can really tell they care about the little details and customer experience. Definitely one of my favourite spots from the trip 🤍 100% will be coming back soon!!
The coffee was spot on and made to perfection. I had a regular flat white with 3 sugars. Rick the Barista makes an amazing coffee. He even stired up the sugar to make sure it disolves. Other place just whack the sugar in do nothing. Rick handles every coffee with care. Great place for breakfast or a snack. I highly recommend this place.
